- CONGRATULATIONS to the Conway High School Model UN team for its success at last weekend’s Model UN conference at UALR. Annette Q. and Gail O. won co-distinguished delegate awards in the Social Affairs Committee; Gail O. won the best position paper award in the Social Affairs Committee; Nada T. won the best position paper award in the Palestinian Affairs Committee; and Olivia L. won the best position paper award in the Environmental Affairs Committee. Congratulations to all the students who participated in the conference for representing Conway High School well.
- CONGRATULATIONS to Hunter F.,, Blake H. and Archer M.! They competed at the All-Region Coding Competition and earned an invitation to the Governor’s All-State Coding Competition. They are one of only 17 schools throughout the state to receive this invitation! Way to go guys!
- There will be a short Shutterbug Club meeting after school today in Mrs. Moore’s room 914. Bring your signed permission slip and $5 for the upcoming trip to Garvin Gardens.
- Blood Drive: DID YOU KNOW --- it’s time for our Annual Spring Blood Drive? FBLA and HOSA will host their semi-annual Drive on Friday, March 2! An FBLA representative will come to each 1st through 6th period study hall to hand out and/or take up permission slips. If you wish to donate and don’t have a study hall, please stop by and see Ms. Collins in Room 901 in the Career Center to pick up a form. In order to donate blood, you must have a signed permission slip turned in today.
- Sr. Beta Club will meet in Mrs. Richards’ room (222) at 3:20 after school Thursday, March 1st to discuss our induction ceremony for this year.
- College Soccer Signing: Evan Trimble will be signing to play soccer at Hendrix on Thursday, March 1 at 4:00 in the Fieldhouse.
- GSA: There will be a GSA meeting this Friday, March 2 after school in room 208.

- Best Buddies and Special Olympics campaign “Spread the Word to End the Word” advocates awareness of the derogatory use of the “R-word” and its negative effects on people with intellectual disabilities. Here at Conway High School, we aim to inspire respect and acceptance through raising the consciousness of the R-word and how hurtful, dehumanizing, and exclusive it can be. Wednesday, March 7th, is the national awareness day, and Caring Cats/Best Buddies will have a table set up in the cafeteria where you will have the opportunity to sign a banner, pledging to not use the “R-word” and to promote the inclusion of all people. Stop by and make your pledge for Respect Wednesday for a free bracelet!
- CHS BMI Screenings are scheduled for Thursday, March 1, 2018. Height and weight measurements will be taken for all 10th grade students. If a student does not wish to be measured, they must still report to the screening site and tell the nurse. Each student must report to the screening site to have their name checked off the BMI list.
- Attention Clubs and Student Organizations: Are you looking for a way to raise some money? Work with Renaissance to make that happen! Elect a deserving senior in your group to run for Mr. Wampus. Nominations are due by March 1st and campaigning will run March 12th-March 16th, with the winner being crowned during the Tug-Of-War games on March 16th. - There will be a HOSA meeting Tuesday, March 6 in Ms. Busby’s room (8117) for all members who are competing at state leadership conference next week. It starts at 3:20 and is mandatory.
